The third round of the Chess World Cup in Georgia has ended. Kazakhstan’s Meruert Kamalidenova scored two major wins, reports jay.kz.
She advanced to the quarterfinals by defeating two top-seeded Russians — Anna Shukhman and Alexandra Goryachkina. Both are reigning champions. Kamalidenova will continue her campaign in the tournament with a prize pool of $700,000, writes Zakon.kz.
