Uzbekistan national team to play first CAFA Cup match without legionnaires

Uzbekistan will play their opening match of the CAFA Cup without their main stars. Players who play abroad simply won’t make it in time, reports jay.kz.

 

According to Championat Asia, the foreign-based players will only be able to join the squad on September 1st, when the official FIFA international window begins. Meanwhile, the first match — against Oman — is scheduled for August 30. The schedule gets even tighter after that: Turkmenistan on September 2, and Kyrgyzstan on September 5.
