Shavkat Rakhmonov’s Wife May Face Prison Time: Police Launch Investigation

The wife of Kazakh UFC fighter Shavkat Rakhmonov may face prison time over a car accident that claimed the lives of two people, jay.kz reports.

 

The accident occurred on the Almaty – Yekaterinburg highway after Gulayim Rakhmonova reportedly lost control of the vehicle. As a result, two of her passengers died. According to Zakon.kz, the Zhambyl Regional Police Department has launched a pre-trial investigation under Article 345, Part 4 of the Criminal Code of Kazakhstan — violation of traffic rules resulting in the death of two or more people due to negligence.

 

The law provides for a prison sentence of 5 to 10 years for this offense.
